Bit dubious about the movie.
If it's given the same treatment that 300 was it will be a visual feast at least - but poor ol' 'Greater Divine Being that si Alan Moore' has a tendency to be shafted when it comes to big screen adaptations.
Mainly because although Gibbon's art is good, it's not what you'd call overly stylised (unlike Millar's all-you-can-eat BBQ for the eyes) - the meat of it is in the writing. Always has been, and film is generally too short a medium to cover all the bases.
I prefered the idea at least of Gilliam's, that it be turned into a mini-series - but again, the writing didn't really hack it.

I can see various bits being lost - like the first Nite-Owl's death, it leads nowhere and can easily be binned. Similarly much of the Minutemen background is likely to be neatly condensed - unless they get a 'big name' for The Comedian - who then may want to be on have more screen time than just diving out of a window!

It will hinge totally on the casting of Rorschach - if he's anything less than perfect the whole thing will fall flat on its face.

Gilliam had the right idea of a mini-series to flesh out the characters.

Not sure if Gilliam would have been a good director, maybe that Sleepy Hollow bloke.

Yup, the character of Rorschach would clinch it - that's the problem with the link to the above screenplay. He becamse some sort of "jokey one-liner action hero".

I'll have to see the movie no matter what. I hope it isn't another Phantom Menace.
