OMG!!!! Really sorry to hear about this. Just you take it easy. The adrenallin of it all keeps you going at first. You might feel a bit off colour later tonight. And keep an eye on that concussion. Pizza / fish supper / chinese (whatever does it for you) and a wee night in front of a DVD is what you need. Milk it for all its worth!

Ah, thought it was a B. Still, it's no worse than the standard of many of the a-roads across Scotland. I reckon they'd be more likely to downgrade it than to fix it.

Biking's out for me for a wee while. Got on my steelie about an hour ago. Thought I felt better so decided I might go out and get a card but I got as far as 2nd gear down the road and couldn't pull the clutch in to change down for the junction. Had to come back up the road and get my neighbour to put my bike away for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So sorry to hear about the off, but i'm sure when your back on two wheels some of us may welcome you back with a fun day out or sumink! (should be the regular thing to do (thank feck nothing was broken and you weren't laid up in the NHS hotel))
Must admit, that run i had around inverary and the wibbly wobbly i turned a corner and there was the machine spitting out tar covered pebbles to fill out holes, thank feck i was taking my time round the bends after spotting a few they did earlier in the day further back the road as they had covered the whole bend in the stuff! Get well soon and look foward to a shiny bike and new gear.

Sorry to hear about the off Stuart. That Dukes Pass is getting worse, it's not getting maintained (period) and they're still allowing large tour buses along it to further chew the road surface up to smithereens. They don't allow cars towing caravans, tour buses or even small lorries up roads like the Dukes over in Northern Ireland due to the damage they do to the roads.
I'm just back from Northern Ireland, and the "B" class roads are much better than our motorways!! The "A" class roads over there are like super smooth race track surfaces...... I came back to Larne from Portrush via the A2 coastal road popping off into most of the wee villages along the way. There was hardly any potholes, the roads (A & B) were superb condition. There was no gravel patches anywhere either ![]() ![]() Coming back into Troon and up to Hamilton just showed how the Scottish roads are total ****e and we're not getting a fair deal. Get yourself to A&E Stuart and get a full medical check. Then claim for everything (lid, leathers, bike, the lot). If the driver knew he had no rear lights, then he's commiting a major offence for driving an unroadworthy vehicle. As you're saying the car was a council car, then consult a good lawyer as they have a legal obligation to tell drivers to check vehicles over before driving them. If they've a fault (ie. no brake lights, etc), they shouldn't be even taken out on the public road until they're fixed. Sue the council and the driver for personal injury and loss of possesions to the hilt mate. Let us know how you get on. Professional drivers can get their driving licence taken away from them for driving dangerous vehicles, and the vehicles get a GV9 immediate prohibition which means the vehicle (including any size of trailer if being towed) can go NOWHERE until a qualified mechanic has been out to rectify the problems. Car drivers just get a "Get it fixed within 21 days" note. You spot the potential problems here now... Last edited by jimmy4237; 14-05-07 at 08:37 PM. |

Why do we let the council(s) away with it, or is it just me that accepts that that is the way it is ? Last edited by scooby2102; 15-05-07 at 01:08 PM. Reason: wrong choice of words |
