So in a few years, I might get an old banger of a CG and show her how to ride on that!

Unless you wanna lend me yours baph

Sam has ridden my bike, she used it to go to work for a week. Little bit nerve racking watching her ride off for the first time, but since she's a better rider than I am (Not a great achievement really ) Wasn't too fussed.

Did sound good though

i know baph bike has done a lot of miles, & its a pointy but calling it a banger is a bit harsh

Generally for diagnostic purposes or the " he can you tell me what that noise is" thing, but riden many bikes not my own, and have no real problem allowing other to "have a go" on mine as long as I've confidence in their abilities.

But then being able to fix just about anything helps I suppose

Memorable moments, Dan pulling away from Soho on my Speedtriple (and the look on his face when I had to go and re-start it ), and Swiss once I got back from testing his bike at an early Selkent, the line was " I didn't know it could sound like that".

Cheers Mark

My brother got knocked off his curvy (hit by un-insured driver) and spend 3 months rebuilding it on a shoe string. 2 weeks back on the road and his 'mate' asked for a go and took it down the road at wrap speed right into the back of a Golf GTI, SV writen off this time! His mate did pay out the current value of the SV and now my bro has gone naked SV.

No one rides his bike now! Although he has asked me if I want to try out the naked riding position but I have yet to take him up on that as I don't want fall off and break his bike.

My brother has riden my pointy twice, just up the road and back. No one else is allowed to incase they break it.

My husband wanted to ride my SV and I was quite happy to let him as he is a better rider than I am. So we went for a ride with me on his Triumph TT600 and him on my SV. I was really nervous on the TT600 it feels so much bigger and heavier than the SV, and then on a slow right hand turn I dropped it.

Hurray for crash bungs, there wasn't that much damage and I paid for what damage there was to be fixed. But still I feel absolutely awful about it and I will not ever be riding his TT again.

Quite happy for him to ride mine if I'm not using it (which seems to be happening with a worrying frequency ......)

I don't much like riding other folk's bikes, never done it for a laugh, just for testing, and even then I don't like it... Very wary of letting anyone on mine, for all sorts of reasons. It's my baby but also, having known people who've been in the situation of crashing a mate's bike, it can be a huge strain on a friendship- money issues, sure, but also it'd annoy me if I had to spend weeks on the bus because some goober had wrecked my bike. And if it's someone's pride and joy even fixing it might not be enough.

Also, I'd be kind of wary of letting someone too used to the SV ride mine, since it doesn't handle quite like an SV, and some of those differences could catch you out something rotten.

So, since I've had it one guy at the dealership's ridden it, Coolgirl's ridden it at the AR, and Cronos technically rode it with the engine off after I dropped it in a car park

OTOH, it needs a respray, maybe I sould get someone to crash it for me?

Used to share a bike with Kamakazy. I ride her SV from time to time and I'm more than happy to let her ride my Tona. Sadly its a good bit taller than the SV, she can't get on it!! Shame

...and Beenz rode me tona once when I first got it. He must have liked it a bit cos he went down the next day to order one. Changed his mind to a Gixxer M, the day after though. Keeps asking me to take his Gixxer out but I decline... even though my record is pretty good, I just know I would drop his pride and joy!

Probably safer - you want to break the bike, not more bits of yourself!
