Was training in things electrical and nautical at HMS Collingwood...which was nice. Hot summer as I recall and The Stranglers were very popular.

We had just moved from very Very Nr Silverstone (where I used to go under the fence and watch the practice days) up to Monton, Eccles, Salford. where I broke my front tooth on a garden roller the day we moved in...
oh yes I was 9 at the time

I would have been 13, strutting my stuff in a tight pencil skirt and high heels, oh so grown up ha ha! I think it was July that year when I was whisked to London to see the Queens Silver Jubilee. That same week I fell over and broke my front tooth in half, nice, and wouldn't smile for any piccies.
Memories eh?

In tech drawing we would have been doing things like 1st/3rd angle isometric and oblique projection drawings, sectioning, development of edges for pipe joints and things such as gear profiles from developing the contact point of the rotating gear etc. Not designing posters. Sounds far more of an arty type syllabus you must have been following back then. Now in my day we had it hard. Cue Dvorak’s New World Symphony

Either lowlifing it up in some downtown dive many thousands of miles from here or trying to find out where we were in the middle of one of the oceans.No satnav in those days.

Easy, since its my BIRTHDAY!! and just started work four days previous (Monday 4th July 1977) and was given a tour of the service areas and roof of Eldon Sq shopping centre in Newcastle
 Just 'celebrated' 30 years in this business!
