Well done mate. I've got my SV up for sale but still haven't actually put it up for sale yet! 7500 miles, good bike and looked after, and it's a pointy. I'm about 45 minutes from you and an hour from the other fella. PM me if either of you are interested.

With 5 hours of lesson I managed to pass my test with 3 minors!
I turned up 25 mins early but that give me chance to clear my head and settle my nerves a little bit. 9:30 come along and everyone turned up. The instructor brought good news that the 8:30 test he took a student to passed with 1 minor. Paid Andrew from Eurorider and he took me through the things that the instructor would be looking for. When he read each thing out it all seemed so much more complicated then what it was. Before we got on the bikes he let me know that the bike I would be using for the lesson and test had been rejected by the examiner because there was a trace of oil on the front forks from the seals on the way out. But the trace was tiny and was in perfectly good riding condition. There was me on the 125 and another older lad on a 500 who must'a been on a 3 day course so luckly me got to take the lead all day. Andrew started off buy taking us to a real complicated bit of road where certain roads could be used a certain times and others were for bus and taxi only etc... Luckly I managed to keep on the road I was meant to be on and all went well. We pulled over after a hour while Andrew made a phone call to someone and then come back with the news that we will not be doing anything like that in the real test. It was something to see how capable we were. The good news come that he hasn't seen nothing in the first hour that the examiner would've failed me on. So onwards we went on easier roads. Next stop was at a motorbike garage, but before we got there we did a right hand turn at some lights followed by another right on a give way. This is where I flaked a bit because I saw the car coming and there was enough room for me. But there was room only for me and Andrew let me know that in the test you have to make sure there is enough room for you and the instructor. When we did then up at the garage he made me a nice cuppa while we browsed the bikes. Then we went off again but this time I was in the middle which was a very nice releaf. But that didn't last long before I was back in front. We turned up at a pretty narrow road where he tested me on my emergency stops and U-turns. My U-turns were fine but the emergency stops wasn't. I got into a habbit of braking, clutching and shifting down the gears all while I was stopping and then putting both feet down. Andrew swiftly told me that it was all wrong and told me how to do it right. 3 attempts later I was still making the same mistakes but on the forth I was just getting the hang of it. We carried on to the cafe near the training ground in bourn but as we got off the bikes the other lad that was with us needed to get back because he had work to get to. In my ear I heard "Sorry Scott but breakfast is going to be 20 mins late". We rode back and dropped the other lad off and while we were there we checked out the bikes front forks and sure enough there was a trace of oil on it. We could've wiped it just before we got to the test center but the main problem was it was going to be the same instructor as it was on Monday who turned the bike down. Andrew then asked me is there any reason you cannot use your bike for the rest of the day and I replied with "not that I know of". So for the last 2 hours I used my bike and instantly felt 100 times better because I was so used to the bike. We then got to the test center and in my ear piece I got "Take the 2nd exit on your left and park up". The DSA sign on the building seem to attract me so I took my first exit on my right in which Andrew started laughing and joking with me saying this isn't your 2nd exit on your left. All was ok and we parked up there. Not long had we parked up that the girl who had her test today come back with the news that she had failed for going the wrong side of the keep lefts. A few moments later It was my turn and the instructor seemed a nice enough fella so onwards we proceeded. My main worrys were over straight away which were the U-turn and emergency stop which went great and from then on everything just seemed to slot into place and I really enjoyed my time both of the lesson and training. We come back and he informed me that I had passed with 3 minors all of which we observational. So I was over joyed at that point. He took both my paper and plastic licence off me and informed me that I'll have my new one in the post within 3 weeks max. At that point Andrew and I went back where I picked up my stuff and left for home. |

As soon as I got home, took off my gear and stuffed a couple of choccy bars down my throat I was off again to meet my dad at the bike shop. I went in and said I am here to buy that stunning looking SV650S over there.
I was part-ex'ing my RV (VanVan) 125 K6 9K miles which he said he would give me £1200 for. That was nice of him because that was the book price for a 3K mile K6 RV. He rung up black horse to find out how much I had left to pay on the bike and the news come back that I had £1121 which left me with a deposit of £79 on the SV. But lucky ol' me Suzuki are doing 0% finance and free restrictors for the SV650S. So we done the deeds and it's only going to cost me £127 per month for 3 years. All the paper work was sorted there and then and it's been arranged for me to pick it up on Saturday if I can get the insurance sorted. While I was there I wanted a alarm on the bike so he said it would be £300 for a Cat 1 Meta 357T alarm and immobiliser fitted. So if all goes well and the insurance gets sorted I may have it this Saturday to get used to. ![]() |

Sounds like ******** to me, probably said to make sure you didn't go for any gaps that are slightly risky. Of course in the real world a gap is a gap. ![]() Congrats on the pass, just get out on the road and enjoy it. Take it easy at first, with the new rider/bike/tyres/weather combination. ![]() |

Andrew did say to me you can go for any gap, but if it is a bit smaller then first thought whack the throttle open to recover from it. As long as the driver doesn't have to use the brake then it's fine. He was also being more strict then the examiner so we would find it easier when the test come and it worked. Every time I looked in the mirror the examiner was looking everywhere else apart from me. XD |

![]() From LFS, RSC, SV, LMNOP. ![]() Today has been the hardest day out of them all including the test. I'm with Express insurence with my RV so I phoned them up late (6:45 PM) last night to get the ball rolling. After a bit of waiting a person who spoke English (to my shock :X ) answered the phone and he was a very nice chap and I said that I wanted to change my licence on the insurance to a restricted one and I want to move the insurance from my current bike to the new SV on Saturday. All was going well until he said that since I was a young restricted licence holder he needed to contact the manage of another company to get clearance on the policy. The problem was that it was closed so we agreed for him to ring back at midday the next day (today). When I woke up today I thought what the heck and phone them up at 9 o'clock and we got going again and then he said that he was going to get the lowest quote and will ring me back. So I foolishly waiting till 1 PM before I realised they wasn't going to ring me back. So I rung them back up and ask what was happening and that I've been waiting for 4 and a half hours and no one has rung me back. So he got to the same stage as the last one and once again hung up and told me he would ring back. That then continued for 2 more times. I was getting quite annoyed at this point because not only was I not getting no where, I still had to get some documents over to the dealer for the loan. 3 o'clock come and I rung them up again and this time I got the same bloke that I rung up the first time and when I said my name he replied with "I spoke to you earlier didn't I". I replied with "Yes and just about every other person in the building". So he then let me know the good news that the insurer I was currently with wouldn't insure me. He put me through to another department in which I had to make a whole new quote. This time it was a lovely women which was nice and we soon shot through it. She then let me know that my current insurer wouldn't insure me and she would ring back in 20 mins. No new news there then! 45 mins later I rung back slightly disgruntled. When through there system, got put on hold, put through to someone I had already been to in which I had to explain why I was ringing. He then took my customer ref and once again let me know that my current insurer wont insure me and he will put me through to the same department that I was with 45 mins ago. I got through to the same women who let me know that she cannot get a quote because she needed to get a verbal conformation from my new insurer who was now closed and will ring me back tomorrow when I get home from work. At this point I give up all hope and packed everything up. Until 15 mins later I got another phone call from someone else saying that they could insure me for £750 with £200 excess. I then explained to him that I had just spoke to someone else who said they couldn't give me a quote. He replied with he had a word with his manager and he said since I had been with them for a year he was sure it would be ok so they granted it. So from tomorrow onwards I am insured on the SV650S.
