The concept's bad enough, but the execution's dismal. There's companies that make laser-cut discs and sprockets like this that aren't just total tat, but these are not them. They look more like weapons from a 70s sci-fi show

Quite possibly, but I'd imagine the sort of person that would fit these (to a Duke of all things!) is more than happy to forfeit a little safety/practically for the sake of some ostentatious w*** on their bike. It probably already has poorly made grips, heel plates, chain guards, tax disc holders, engine casings and can hangers that are equally prone to snapping due to having this sort of "engraving".
