Sorry to hear about your freinds injuries, sounds like a bit of a character. I wish him a speedy recovery. I hate that bit of road, had a few moments on it myself, not bad on supermoto but crap on a sportsbike. It's just the easiest way to snake pass, cat n fiddle etc from this end.

Just like to say to Ian get well soon I do not know you are, but who cares, .

Well done to all those who helped, if it was not for all you that were threre, I'm sure you would be writing something else on this thread. Sometimes places which a far out do take some time for the Emergency services to get to you. I know that road well, and being a traffic officer I hope those officers that are dealing with it investigate that part of the road.

GET WELL SOON

UPDATE MONDAY 15th OCTOBER,

hard to believe its only 2 weeks since Ians accident,
Today hes being moved to Pontefract, only 3-4 miles from where he lives, so this is far better for his family and friends to get to see him, hes rang me from the ambulance on the way over, first time outside in 2 wk and they out him in a van with no windows.

Tameside were ready to discharge him to home on thursday, but they need to make his house wheel chair friendly before he can go home, hes going to have to use a wheelchair for at least 12 weeks as he has to keep his leg elevated and not walk on crutches or anything while they "taper" his leg for a prosthetic and for the blood flow to sort itself out

his other injuries have more or less sorted themselves out and apart from not haveing the bottom of his left leg, hes pretty much back to normal, the sooner he can get home the better itll be for him mentally, it must be getting on his t*ts laying around all day............NHS dont even have sky+ !!!!! lol

thanks again to everyone for there best wishes and support,
James copied this thread for him and gave it him to read in hospital, by all accounts he was quite moved.

big Scotish puff..........................

UPDATE ON THE UPDATE,

previous update this mornig is now out of date,

he got to pontefract this morning, had an assessment and a physio appointment, then they said he could go home.

so hes now at home, without a wheelchair, theyve given him some crutches and he can just get on with it,

hes got to keep going back for check ups and setting up for his artificial limb, but apart from that back to normal.......well as normal s poss.

so hes hoping to be up at squires on weds night,,,,,,,,,,,chances are he wont have to dip his hand in to buy a cuppa,, nowt new there then ..............................
