A mate of mine is 6' 5" and about the same build as you.
He used to have a C1 ZX9 and loved it. Just the right size for him and scary faaaaaaaast!! We saw 165 on the clock, 2 up, one fine morning on the A3 on the way back from Box Hill a long time ago. He now has a K1200R and loves that as well. HTH |

Being realistic there are few bikes that would really match your size, and fewer still that will do so in your budget. In the circumstances, in your place, I wouldn't give a stuff about what I looked like as long as the bike suited me, which you'll only know by trying.
As you say the ZX9 is, by todays standards, a physically larger than most sportsbike, as such it's possibly more suited to your frame than most, however I'd look at the Thunderace too as that has a deserved reputation for being most comfy and roomy too. Don't buy earlier than a 'C' model, (earlier ones have USD forks), the later bikes - '98 on, are tons better. HTH.
