I think Alonso is going to struggle to find a team willing to take him on as numero uno, and that is clearly what he wants. Historically, Ferrari are the only team to clearly use this tactic to good/boring effect, pretty much everyone else would rather see how things pan out with both drivers as the season progresses.

As they say, EARN your stripes Fernando! Being able to call yourself a past-champion just isnt good enough these days, consistency is key in F1 and he was pretty average this year.
Alonso may have made a few mistakes this year, but some of his drives were still flawless. 2 world titles is not to be smirked at either, lots of drivers dont get one!

I thought it amusing that people were waxing lyrical about the new English born Senna as he performed wonderfully well until China oh yeah and then Brazil.

All of a sudden the excuses of "lack of experience" blah blah were all wheeled out. That lack of experience though apparently had no value when he was winning, but when he was screwing up.......

Like how many years of experience do you need not to knock the kill switch in to the "off" position?

Remember the old saying peoples...One swallow, does not a summer make.

He's shot his bolt I tell you and next season will be pootling around like David Coulthard. After all with no Ferrari technology or ideas allowed, McLaren are surely doomed?

Alonso will be very happy not to be driving for McLiar any more. I think that next year will be the test of Lewis Hamilton as well- we will see how consistent he is for his second season now the dust will have time to settle on 2007. I've got lots of confidence in him.

Apparently, Red Bull and Honda are punting for Alonso- I can't see him jumpling over anyone to get to those teams to be honest- either Renault or Ferarri would be the best bet- I'm hoping that Massa's new contract only means he'll be making tea- I don't think he's really worthy of a Ferarri Team Driver. Great on a clear road- rubbish in traffic!!

Yeah- Alonso and Kimi would make a powerful line up for Ferarri and my brother (a long time Alonso fan) would be gutted to be wearing a red cap next season.

Being a Kubica supporter meself, I can look on most of this fairly objectively (though obviously I'm rooting for Lewis as well- and would love to see Jensen in a reliable car that isn't "a parachute on the straights". I also think that BMW will be a real force to be reckoned with next year- especially with Heidfeld's already considerable skills.

All this and no traction control should provide a 2008 season with just as much drama as this years...

I really think that will sort the top drivers out. There could be those that struggle to get to grips,(no pun intended!) with the car being a lot livelier to control for the pilot himself.

You are as mind numbing as others on this forum. Why even take the time to simply state that something does not interest you? That is truly pathetic.

But then again it interested you enough to make your entertaining post.

I'll elaborate for fairness. There are many a member on this forum and judgeing by the individuals that have commented on this thread, it is plain to see that not everyone has a great interest in the shenanigans in F1. However the majority,(thank god) do not feel the need to post to indicate that the topic has no interest to them. They might simply read and move on. Maybe something you might consider in the future?

The beauty of a forum you see, one can observe a debate taking place but if no motivation to add any valuable or personal opinion is present then one can simply move on by. Different from a conversation takling plavce in your company where the comment of not being interested or bored by the subject might have some value.

Again feeling the compunction to simply state being bored with/have no interest in the subject matter is a personal opinion but perhaps one best kept to oneself. To avoid prats like me taking objection to your level of contribution.

Alonso to Red Bull I tell yer. A season of kicking his heels whilst keeping his hand in before Massa gets the bullet.

I'm no expert but that young Kubica chappie seems pretty good?
