high revs and popping? choke cable, nipped in the crash perhaps? Airbox and carbs seated? No air leaks anywhere?

Not going into first? Check the clutch is adjusted properly. Check the oil is not overfilled.

Fix the clutch cover oil leak, you might as well while it's apart.

Fork seals are a piece of pi$$, chance to get some oil of known grade in there too.

Well the annoying thing is it's just had brand new 15w and hagon progressives in there.

Yeah may aswell do the clutch cover.

I'll double check the carbs but I'm sure I seated it all alright, the choke cable was seized before the crash. I had 1 week riding on it unseized before the crash and it's been stood since...I'm thinking it's seized up again. Could a small hole in the downpipe draw air in to pop? Or does it only pop with fuel (it only popped for a bit seemed to go away after 5 min)

Admittedly oil is overfilled slightly. But this used to happen and I looked into it last time with the right oil level and the clutch properly adjusted.

10 points for observation ASH!

Right, remove the little timing plug in pic 2. Heat the copper washer with a blowtorch till it's really fackin hot. Let it cool naturally. Retorque.

Take clutch cover off, put a little sealant on the O ring groove and put it all back together.

Take the oil filler cap off, and have a gander at it. See if the O ring on it is split or whatever.

i love a motor vehicle technician's technical terms

"bugger" was the first term i learnt the meaning of. generally, it means "oh golly gosh, this attempt at solving this problem with this vehicle has not worked, i shall have to try another method but thats going to take more time"

Right the photo (number 2 {ha}) taken was after the copper crush washer had been heated, the filler cap has no seal. I'll have to resealant the clutch cover

hopefuly your clutch cover isnt too warped. Might be worth putting some silicone sealent or some teflon tape around the bolts if it still leaks - i did this and it cured my leaky clutch cover

(i dont want to buy a new one)

There should be an O-ring on it.
