There'll be plenty of competent mechanics about if someone should have a mishap, I shall also have a van and tie-down straps, so can aid in the return to base!

Re: AR10 Chat
The Wales proposal allows some fantastic scenic riding opportunities for those who have never been. You will be hard pressed to beat it south of Scotland. And great stuff to do for non-riders, eg. Hay, walking etc, even 4x4-ing.
Baskerville has been used as a location by UKGSer, never went myself but I think it was a good location. The hotel as has been pointed out has rooms etc but these are a bit 'amusing' and Fawlty Towers-ish I understand , not that that in any way detracted from anything. I understand the 'disco' is fun if anyone one is interested but doesn't affect anyone if not, but young men, abandon all hope ye who enter there, we nearly lost a whole contingent of Polish blokes to local women not so far from there . The key thing is it is geared up for what you need, most campsites not being so, and I imagine you won't have to worry about noise etc too much. Petrol station just about opposite. Some good traillie riding around there too Last edited by the white rabbit; 06-09-09 at 09:16 AM. |

Re: AR10 Chat
Hahahaha, now I'll be waiting for the thread, "Bl00dy chain snapped today" As for what the White Rabbit said........+1 to all of it.....it's perfectly geared up, the hotel is fit for purpose as far as the rooms go and I've only heard good things about them. You get what you pay for......apart from the camping, in which case you get a whole lot more!!! |

Re: AR10 Chat
Not sure how but could someone create an unofficial poll along the lines
AR10 - Wales Happy with what has been proposed lets just sort the date? Need more time for others to beat it? I personally can't see how anyone can beat what has been offered by the Wales crew so lets get to voting on the dates? |

Re: AR10 Chat
Not done an AR before but this does sound about as good as it could ever get.

Re: AR10 Chat
I too think the Wales suggestion sounds terrific.
There might be an explanation why nobody else has suggested anything: it seems to me that expectations have become too high and so the planning becomes a nightmare. It's no longer enough to find a campsite and a good route. People expect very high standards but want to pay as little as possible. Silk purses and sow's ears etc. Whilst high standards are nice - they aren't really essential - are they? |
