Re: Vintage film cameras
Ta for all the flashes. The Perkeo is bigger than I'd thought, people keep saying how tiny it is. Anyway it's sticking at the point where the leaves are going to open, even on B. I guess it'll need the usual going over, you'll need to be patient though I'm afraid; usual stuff plus I think our heating pump has just packed up! Glass is nice and clean and the rest looks good.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Which Ricoh have you got? I have a 500G somewhere. I could see the top capacitor but my soldering skills aren't that good. Where the screws any good? Oily blades do you think Johnny? Its a lovely camera and really sharp. Just frustrating when it won't fire first time. Tried exercising it but its sticks again. Its in good nick, the guy who sold it listed it as faulty as they didn't know how to use it.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hard to say, I think the shutter releases okay but the main mechanism won't move except on 1s or so, so most likely it's gummed up.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The Ricoh is a variant of the 500. I can't remember the extra letters but it's got some kind of multiple exposure button which I'll play around with. I like the camera; shutter priority, a kind of rudimentary program mode and a manual option. Nice pocketable size too. The only problem, as perr all rangefinders, is my ageing eyes and getting the focus right. The yellow spot on the Olympus 35s I find clearer than the Ricoh.
I didn't get chance to look at the screws but will check them out tonight. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Thanks for the heads up but I already have one in my collection. Yoko, when did you order your lens? Mine Duo hasn't arrived yet despite being sent on the 27th.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I can't remember exactly when I ordered it. But last sale, your lens arrived quickly whereas the camera I ordered took much longer

Re: Vintage film cameras
I have emailed him again as I had no reply last time. Might have to dig out my Ricoh for a shoot if I can find it!

Re: Vintage film cameras
He's bad at replying to emails. He answers phone calls, promises to sort it out and email you... but doesn't.
Did you get a tracking number? I like the little Ricoh. Will see what the results are like. Oh, a couple of your screws fit the RC35 so I'll reconnect the wires on that when I've got a bit of time. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah but it's wrong, RM doesn't recognise it. It's why I used credit card. Glad the screws fitted. I think I paid like 2.50 for mine. I still need to shoot with my VF135 at some point.
