It's no longer enough to find a campsite and a good route. People expect very high standards but want to pay as little as possible. Ed, I'm in total agreement with you. Was talking about it with Stretch and Squirrel Hunter on Thursday night and really....all that's needed is a field to camp in, toilets, somewhere to get food like a pub nearby and a well planned route.

Messie and Vox did a superb job this year and When Hovis asked me if I wanted to help him, I honestly thought that we could do it, but it would never live up to peoples expectations and so we'd probably have a complete nightmare.

Then we stayed away at Baskerville Hall Hotel for a weekend camping with a Land Rover Competition rally and could not believe what I was able to arrange for such a ridiculously low price.

The venues are out there, but I think unless you happen to stuble upon them as I did and relate them to and SV AR.......they can be very hard to find.

I just hope we get it, but to be honest.......I think it may end up being a perfect venue for any Wales weekends......we'll have to wait and see!

Like I said at the start, its your forum, its your weekend, you guys should have input into the process of site selection and dates.

Therefore IMHO I dont see any good reason why somebody shouldnt start a thread with a poll in it. However I dont think this person should be a mod / admin or somebody who has put a proposal together.

So if somebody wants to start a poll then IMHO get on with it, dont wait for a mod to come along and do it...
