I wasn't at work today so went out for a wander. Managed to finish off 2 rolls of film....shock horror!!
About 12 b&w left on the XP2 in the Minolta. Will try to finish them off this week and get the lot processed at the weekend.

Definitely a shocker! I need to get a couple of rolls away at some point. I also had another roll of Precisa Slide film arrive today, I have discovered that Amazon prices are pretty good. Coupled with Prime means I get free next day delivery. Could also do with mixing up a fresh batch of B&W chemicals at some point. Lost count of how many rolls have been through this batch, also I did two C41 rolls in there as well so who knows what dyes came off in there! I know you are busy Johnny, but have you had a chance to look at the Perkeo?

Picked up the S2, now where do I begin with faults.... Shutter release not working, film advance not working, film door latch broken. So I noticed that the self timer lever is engaged and at full wind. Take the lens apart (I am not the first in here) and manage to free off the timer. Shutter still not co.cking with wind lever so I pop the bottom plate off. Rack to wind lever screw and washer have fallen off, so reattach and it winds and co.cks. Better check the aperture ring while it's apart. Hmmm.... No movement. Blades are stuck. Given them a good wipe down with lighter fluid but still sticky. Will let it dry overnight and try again. If it works then all I need do is fix the door latch.

Wow, basket case! Strange the aperture blades are stuck, is it a shutter-priority auto? What lens has it got, Hexanon f1.8?

Good work to get that fixed up Kenzie. S2 is supposed to ne a nice machine. Did the aperture loosen up?

It lives! For the most part. A couple of fiddly wires for the cds meter broke off, so auto mode won't work at the moment. Not a problem really as it uses a px625 battery and a reliable replacement is not available in the right voltage. Aperture is free and shutter firing on all speeds. Fixed the film door as well but will need to file the screw down as it is poking through the vinyl. Apart from that I may need to check focus but as it is fixed and all it should need is screwing all the way in. Weighty little thing though and pretty easy to work on.

I'm using these as mercury battery replacements. They cost peanuts and are supposedly the right voltage. It's easy enough to shim the battery compartment to make them fit.
