Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Road rash... Fell out of the caddy when doing about 60mph.
I'd been listening to guidance from the device for some time so that would imply that it was in the caddy correctly. That said, I've not found a single complaint that there is a problem with Garmin caddies. Garmin have said that they'll test the caddy and exchange if they find a problem but a) it's a lot of work to get the caddy off (and new one on again) and b) I suspect that I must not have put it in the caddy correctly tho I don't know what I could have done wrong - just absent mindedness I guess. As there is a newer model coming out, there are discounts on the old (i.e. my) model, so maybe I should just suck it up and get a replacement. Still hurts tho! |

Earache, and not from the wife.
Ear is blocked up with wax, but rather than a straightforward syringe it out job, I've got to treat it with ear drops for 3 weeks before they syringe it out. The rationale is that it either falls out of its own accord or it softens it so it comes out easier, without damaging the ear drum. Only just past week one, and is aching away

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I get similar ear problems as a recurring problem. Often from blocked ears from swimming triggering it. Not fun. That and recurring sinus problems and infections seem to cause excrutiating pain that takes over my whole head and makes it impossible to think straight for a week or two at least once a year.

Made up words like Brexit or Bremain. How do they even come up with these? (yes I know they are made up but they sound so ridiculous!)

I think this deserves a thread of its own, where we all make up words.

Re the earwax problem. My mother would put 20/20 hydrogen peroxide in our ears to clean out the wax. I did it with my children too. The peroxide reacts with the wax to dissolve it. It foams up and tickles like mad but it does clear the wax. Repeat applications may be needed but it really works.

Otex does the same. Fizzles away in the ear. Not sure it helps shift anything but at least you know it's clear when it doesn't fizzle any more. Or you've just lost all sensation from your ear

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Sad news that Tony Cozier has died aged 75. Now many of you won't know who he was, unless like me you'd spend wintry English days and nights listening to England v West Indies cricket matches on the radio. He was a brilliant commentator for 50 years, but also since 1999 a colleague and one of the true gentlemen. I'll miss his voice, his insight, but I'll also miss just sitting having a coffee with him during breaks in play when he was over in the UK.
