It just didn't fancy the battle re-enactment obviously.

I'm posting in the mega thread because we are still in January so it's bleedin early to start a TVSF camping chat thread but the snow has gone and I'm daydreaming of less hazardous riding.

Anyway, it seems that, aside from the hot tub and fire-friendly hosts (and all too willing local gals), there are many good reasons to make a return trip to Lowbridge Farm.

For instance, who could refuse the scarecrow festival or the Calne Country Music Festival. In fact, with free camping, let's just go to that!

Or we could just fix a date around one of the race days at Castle Combe.

Don't care where it is as long as the company is good again.
Let's face it, the TVSF seem to be getting the hang of this camping lark. Let's see if we can beat all the other sections and have more camping weekends than any of them.

I think we do already don't we? That was three last year or so, plus the AR. I'm theoretically up for camping again, but not yet!! Just go lie down outside for an hour tonight David and lets see if you are still up for it

Woo, rode to work today! Nice and warm thanks to heated gloves! (Did I mention I have heated gloves?). Roads are greasyish, but fine really. Only problem is that I wanted to cane it a bit through excitement but I really mustn't quite yet.

Thats the wonderful thing about having a slow winter bike mate, you can cane it all you want without fear that it will catch you out with er....power. Any at all infact! Although I have managed to loft the front wheel at lights in London

I like the idea of fixing a date around one of the race days. A quick look at their website suggests that there is only one motorbike race meet in early September but there are loads of 4 wheeled meets throughout the summer. Which would still be pretty cool!
