I started riding in the 250 2-stroke mayhem of the early 80's & survived it, **** knows how, I used to think that sliding down the road on your **** was all part of the fun of motorcycling!!!! Had more offs than I care to remember but put it all down to ****e tyres and nothing to do with rider error! Yeah right.

9th February 1963:
Came off 7 times! Going up Horseshoe Pass to Dragon Rally. Snow was 12 feet deep, but that's no excuse. No injury to self or damage to bike. ![]()

Just one, shortly after passing test 18 years ago, going 84 miles per hour down local dual carriageway (I know this because the speedo stuck) three bounces off the crash barrier, on my side across A27 no more CBR250RR (grey import). Beautiful bike, but fantastic lesson learned, look where you are going not at the crash barrier. Walked away very lucky. DJ was angry enough to kill me!

I've had 2, both on scooters. I got hit by a coach on my 50cc bike, he did a right hand turn without indicating. I low sided on my 125cc. Tiny wheels ftl.

Three.
1 & 2 in the late 1970's. 1. Car cut me off ran into gravel and lowsided. No gloves so had to have gravel picked out of hands with tweezers at the A&E. Inexperience on my part. 2. Had rained earlier and there were puddles in the road. Ran through a puddle in front of a farm supply store that ended up being hydraulic fluid. Instant lowside sending me sliding into the other lane in front of a huge lorry hauling gravel. Bike goes under lorry. Front bumper stops approx. 1 inch from visor. Now that was a moment! Handle bars ,mirrors indies on both ends but bike amazingly survived. 3. High side in 2008. Got water in fuel ( fricking esso) on trip causing intermittent missing on 1 cyl. Foolishly decide to ride bike home. 100 miles from home starts constantly missing but again foolishly decide to continue. Starts to rain as I am coming down off a mountain and I lean way into turn (duh) causing water to run away from fuel inlet. Speedo goes from 45 to 120 with rear tire spinning. Back end passes front end. (You know you're in trouble when you can see the front of your headlights) Stayed on the throttle and managed to get bike back straight but it high sided as soon as the rear tyre regained traction. Bike lands on me. Result: broken collarbone , knee knackered. Bike fairs well with only right side of of fairing, mirror and indie destroyed. Ruins every bit of kit I had on. Helmet, jacket, trousers, boots and gloves. In the middle of nowhere. No signal on phone. Uprighted bike on my own causing more damage to shoulder. Worse part was having to call the wife on the way home to tell her I'd crashed and to be ready to take me to the A&E. ![]()

![]() That was the worst part, explaining I was going to be late and that I was currently lying in the fast lane of the A406. Waiting for a ride. Don't fancy that phone call again.
