I haven't read all the posts thorughly but this made me chuckle, Luckypants .

'fancy disco lights and sound' coming after you is plenty enough, to pressure anyone into making a mistake I'd say .

On the other hand, perhaps the driver of the car just wasn't very good .

Thank you Ben! If I was riding at 'up to 130 mph' with disco lights and sound after me, I'd get the message and pull over. This guy chose to ignore these and the police officer gave chase (rightly IMO) The officer did not drive right up the fleeing rider's chuff but sensibly hung back, hence not pressurising the rider (any more than the pressure he put himself under by running).

I fail to see why anyone would have sympathy with the bike rider in this case and criticise the officer for doing his job.

I went out with a Tracy Mortimer from Hilperton when I lived there, she worked on the bakery counter at Sainsos (or was it Tescos?) at the bottom of Castle St in town. Anyway, she was a lovely girl with a white 2 litre Mk1 Capri.

I'm not critising the officer for doing his job, but it appears I'm not the only one who thinks he should think twice before he goes posting videos of his driving up on youtube again

18 months inside for riding like he did in the video? that would've been unbearably harsh, add in the disqualified etc. and I still think they made an example of him.

The video was on the BBC website. If it has been used as evidence in the trial it is now a matter of public record and available for all to view. I don't think the officer has posted it on Youtube.

Maybe, but judges and 'The Law' take a very dim view of being ignored (ref. driving while disqualified) and will be quite harsh to set an example.

Don't I know it, conversley, if you pull over right away and come over all apologetic it's amazing what you can get away with
