Im going to play devils advocate here. I have a set of R & G bungs so I am probably biased.

But looking at the picture of bent bolts and scuffed bungs, I would say they have worked how they are designed to do. They have taken the impact and saved the frame. The bungs that are scraped on the end but still fastened rigidly to the frame have probably put more stress on the frame as the bike slid down the road.

I think they work more like a crumple zone and are suppose to be destroyed in a crash. but 65 quid for some new bungs is better than rejigging a twisted frame.

Just a thought

Hi Nate,
Thanks for getting in touch.
I would like to order a full set (frame & swing arm) for my '99 SV650.

Please let me know if you are organising a group deal or individual orders.

Kind regards,
Alan

I can see your point, but like I say it's a matter of balance- if a bung's too strong and it hits a solid object it could do some real damage, but that was a lowside on smooth tarmac with no object to hit, and the bung still folded up. They've been known to fail entirely in similiar hits. OTOH the Motosliders are very widely used on SV Rider and not one person's had them cause damage.

I could forgive the R&Gs if they weren't so expensive, and if they didn't take the mick with replacement parts- the bolts bend in the lightest of crashes and cost £10 to replace, £15 for the bung along, plus £8 or so postage- and the delivery's slow too. Last time, I ordered the replacement parts as I'd decided to sell the bungs, and I ordered the motosliders on the same day, guess what arrived first.

I am not on commission. Honest. Though now I think of it...

thanks for the quick responses Nate, much appreciated. I'm sure someone will be able to sort out a UK distributor recommendation.

With the strong exchange rate at the moment now is a good time to buy from your side of the water

Personally I'd suggest JHS, as they no longer seem to sell the good ones they used to, a lot of the others that spring to mind are already R&G distributors .

Nominate Yorkiechris as UK distributor

OK, I've set up a 10% discount on the product cost.

I will ship these out as a discount on individual orders. Much easier than shipping a large group order and reshipping in the UK.

So, Frame sliders only would be ~ 43.76 GBP with shipping, to you in 6-10 days.

Frame and swingarm sliders would be ~ 55.72 GBP with shipping to you in 6-10 days.

When ordering, use the discount code "UK" (don't put in the quotes) and make sure you select international shipping. This discount will be good through December 14th.

Ferret, I'll be applying this discount to you as well since you brought my attention to the thread.
