I find this quite amusing as the only automated number plate reading speed camera systems are SPECS which are front facing anyway, so Gatso, truvelo and laser systems all need the manual intervention so plate is irrelevent.

What about ANPR cameras then? For the uninitiated that stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. If the system manages to read your plate it can tell if you, or rather the bike, is taxed and insured.

7X7 on mine, but it is a 6 digit plate. Never been pulled as yet. (Furiously clutching pieces of wood)

There are loads of different number plate recognition systems.

The customs use them on ferries and ports, police and ministry use them.

In the UK, policemen do not take number plates off cars, but they do in the rest of Europe as the plate is issued to the owner and not the vehicle.

Failing to display, or displaying an illegal plate will not result in points

I'm with kwak zz, I use 7*5 on both bikes, and don't seem to have any problems.

Mind you I've not been pulled for years.

Must be the pipe and slippers that do it.

Mine's about as small as I'd go. It's mounted funny as well!
