True but i'm a fan of doing things the correct way incase of something going tits up like the new filter being the wrong one or stuffed . 99% of the time you'll do it fine but it's just for the sake of £6 i do it the proper way.

"correct" is a bit funny in this case. Seen oil filters which were too tight to shift with a strap wrench.
And I know what an SV filter looks like.
