From your list I'd go for the FZ6 S2. I had one when my gixer was in for a service last year. Very comfortable and really goes if you let the motor spin, stops pretty well too. Pretty tame lower down but that can be good when there's sod all grip in the road.

It's not as eyeball sinkingly loony as the ZX6 in warp drive mode but is probably a better all rounder. 6K service intervals as well.... which is nice.

Thanks for the replies.

I dont actually want a naked bike, but as a lot of my riding, especially distance stuff is done 2-up the modern ultra-track focussed SS600's are pretty much out of it, was seriously considering the 07 R6's that Infinity were doing for £6K, but they dont have any left.

Suziki are not doing anything nice on 0%, or I would be seriously looking at the GSXR-750 or possibly the GSXF-650, both are out.

The Shiver went on there because its a v-twin, and has a couple of sytling points I like.

The Fazer is there as its a "safe" option - if the SV was on 0% it would be there in its place.

Similarly the Z1000 is also out due to lack of 0% deal, but yes I would have it before the Z750 if I could.

Still, will get Vixis out looking with me tomorrow- there may be a pleasant surprise with some of the SS600's fitting a pillion, but after having a ride on the VFR800, I think she would rather not go back to an SV, never mind anything more sporty.

Will have to see how things work out tomorrow.

without wanting to go off on too much of a tangent - is having to resort to finance in order to buy something not a touch risky? even 0% is still spending money you don't actually have - is there any plan should your circumstances change?

I wouldent inflict the ZX6R's "pillion" seat on my worst enemy, or certainly not anyone over about 50KG its so narrow and thin.

So if you are going to be doing 2 up its out really.

Don't like the DL thou? Would've thought it could suit you quite well, good for distance and 2-up, lovely engine... Good crash protection Quite tall though... You mentioned the Fazer, the GSR seems pretty Fazerish too.
