Bu99er!! I know what a broken scaphoid is like.

I still have the bit of titanium holding it together!

Heal soon and hope the bike's not too bad!

Just had the call from the bike dealer. Had to pay the £117 release fee, but claiming back on insurance. On a plus note, the bloke who picked it up said that he thought the damage was mainly superficial, so, get to see it tommorow. Will take pictures and let all see the carnage.

This is what I was thinking, but, the garage seem optimistic about it all, so hopefully, may all work out.

Drew, you have friends in high places!!! Which stretch of the M5 was it? And which hospital did you attend? I work at Frenchay A&E in Bristol which covers a lot of the M5 trauma - from experience you are very lucky! Will the police examine the road surface, and will the bike be examined for an explanation? Would be interested to know what made your bike go down like that on a straight. Hope your aches and pains subside soon, and the insurance lark goes smoothly

Mate I'm very happy to hear that your okay and nothing serious happened, that was a lucky escape/crash however you want to look at it! If it was desil on the road, would the coucil not be liable for your crash? Maybe worth looking into!

It would be very useful to find out what casued you to come off, it may help prevent it happening to another biker. Also what gear were you wearing? It did its job which is ACE!!!

Let yourself heal, before you get on the bike again, after surgery I forced it I'm sure it put me back a week.....

Take care and its good you want to be on your bike again, will we see you at the AR08?

I was taken to Worcester A&E, as had only been on the mway for 2 minutes.

From the chat with the police and what I can remember, think it was a culmination of few things, one being the cold morning, two a patch of oil / diesel and three me going on the front brake. I believe that they are not going to investigate further, as no one else was injured and I was cleared of the mway quite quick.

The lorry driver apparently said that the traffic in front was slowing as normal but nothing to cause me to brake like that, BUT, I seem to have a vague recolection of me braking due to a car in front. To be honest, it all flashed so quickly I really have no clue.

I had on a Vemar helmet (As was the most comfortable after the Arai for me), I had an RST jacket on and some Spada trousers. Gloves wise I had some Weisz WProof ones. They are all trashed, Gloves ripped all the way through to the palm of my hands, the trousers have slashes in them, the jacket has holes also. The lid is ruined, but all the kit did its job!

As for the AR, there is no way this will stop me from going. lol. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
