If you can't have a good time on that road then motorcycling is not for you. Give up and buy golf clubs or knitting patterns.

From Baldock head up the A1 to Biggleswade, at the first roundabout on the A1 take the 2nd exit towards the town centre and up to the small roundabout on the industrial estate, straight over that to the next one and turn right towards Dunton and Eyeworth. Keep on that main road but mind the beautiful S bend between Eyeworth and Wrestlingworth, from there on it's fast sweepers all the way to the A10 where you can either head straight back home or stop at the Silver Ball Cafe, on the A10 just outside Royston, for breakfast.
Cheers Lozzo, I'll look into this as I am familier with the A10, so that'll provide me with ym bearings for the rest of the route. Might do it this saturday, maria seems keen on getting out on the bike. Anyone want to join if we go out?

Matt

If you're going up that way but fancy something a little more challanging at the second roundabout of the A10 (puckeridge one) take the B1368, up threw barkway & barley back into Royston, nice road although a lot of blind bends and the odd tractor or three, from there a blat down the A505 TO Hitchen (nice little coffee shop on the left on the high road with good bike parking directly outside) then up the A600 onto the A507 if you want (although I'd probably take the Hexton rd B655 I think ?).

Cheers Mark.

If you fancy travelling East as opposed to North or West as the others have suggested - then find your way to the A414 towards Chelmsford (nice biking road) - hit the A12 (boring dual carriageway bit - but not long) - take the OLD A130 to S Woodham Ferrers & then just follow the signs to Burnham !!

That will have just about everything you're looking for - fast straights, sweeping bends & some twisty bits - oh yes, & quite a few ups & downs as well !!

You mean the road between Hitchin and Barton Le Clay, wonderful bit of tarmac, that is...and right on my doorstep.

Indeed that'd be the one

Me and maria went for a nice ride today; we went up the A10, as suggested, but we didnt go far enough north to get to the A507....instead, we headed down the A414 and then down the B181, which was a tight, twisty road but poorley surfaced. Anywho, it was a slow-paced ride but good fun

I'll go hunting for other places to go, hopefully better roads

Matt
