I am always cautious when riding in the wet. It's better to be cautious than over confident and bin it imho. It's about finding that balance I guess.

Me too. In the wet its better to get where you are going then it is to push the bike in corners. Its just so risky with all the extra hazards.

I am at best a good weather rider but if it rains whilst out, so be it! I should be OK really because having taken my test in the worst weather I had seen for a while (July 20 last year..20072007!!) and rode through a flood on a dual carriagway leaving the examiner umming and arring before proceeding......for me that was nerves but did as the instructor said, revs revs revs on the back brake!

definatly agree with you guys. I can 100% say that I have not become over confidant or c*cky in the wet, and Im not pushing the bike at all, I dont think I ever push all that hard anyway, even in the dry.

Yep, if there is one thing I have learnt from biking it's that you should always ride with a margin for error and the unexpected. Ride safe.

I think the important thing here is that it was noted that riding in the wet needed be a burden. Approached with the correct attitude it can be quite fun And indeed within reason the faster you go the more sure-footed the bike is!! You are doing two things when going a bit quicker .. you are 'driving' the tyres into the road a bit more and you are getting/retaining heat ... BOTH aid grip and therefore feel and associated confidence

I can't see a time when it be like "Ohhhh its raining, lets get the bike out quick" .. but also seeing dark clouds in the distance and hence the possibility of a shower/rain when out be reason enough not to get the bike out
