I got them fitted for £238 by a mobile tyre fitter that came to my work hence the little bit higher price. The profile is also different to the SV.
They are pretty crap for fast road riding for the record....in my opinion. Good for touring and bimbling which is what they are really for I suppose, so my mistake for choosing them.

HI
Just wondered what makes these tyres crap for fast road riding, have you crashed on them from lack of grip ? Just an interested SV rider. |

I'm of the same tinking as G
I don't like these tyres at all Far better than d220's and do what they say on the tin I have tried these at various tyre pressures, but I still don't like the feedback they give me Tyre life is excellent but I would not push these and feel safe I have felt them "give" but they have never let go ![]() so to summarise good choice to upgrade for touring/commuting ![]() |

Just checked and my 021's which went on last June have now done 11,600 miles! Used for commuting - they know my daily commute from Bracknell to Westminster themselves by now... I have been very happy with them - good grip in the wet and dry. I ride smoothly which gives me good tyre life and also means I only have to come in for fuel refils every 195 miles or so. Good point made by someone about the fronts wearing at the same speed as the rears. The front has worn more on each side than the centre - wierd! I'll be replacing both in the next couple of weeks.

I checked yesterday and having read the BT stuff on my tyres, my back one says BT021 and my front says BT016... is that correct? I know it doesn't matter much if you have different tyres... i just don't know what the numbers represent.

016 - Is a sports tyre, soft, gives good grip when hot. Might not be so good in cold and or wet conditions, doesnt have a particularly long life in terms of mileage
021 - Is sport touring, so harder tyre, IIRC its dual compound, so softer on the edges harder in the middle. Will last longer at the expense of out and out grip.
