I had 3 big projects as part of my degree - 3rd year 10,000 words/6 months (design and build an electronic spirit level, attempting to get a PIC microcontroller to do some serious maths), 4th year 15,000 words/4 months (Use of Technology in Fashion - working with art students and a design house on the use of opto-electronics in fashion, design and conservation of materials) and 20,000 words/6 months (Steer by wire - initial design and feasability study). The second two were group projects, the final one an absolute nightmare.
Can't say I massively enjoyed it, especially as I had loads of lectures as well, did alright though. Also had to do a Viva, were I/we got grilled over it, that was a challenge. MT |
