Nothing wrong with the PR2s on the road or track (at my level).

In my experience Bridgestones are nowhere near as good on the road as the PR2s.

Several years of courier work has thrown up some startling results for me. 020s were awful, Conti Road Attacks were fun, anything Chinese was scary!

I like the PR2s for the feel on the road in the wet and dry and I've not had any problems on track with them either.

As I'm not a label junkie (I wear a Caberg and an HJC) I don't get sucked in by all the advertising carp. Wether Michelin can or can't make a good MotoGP tyre makes no difference to me. If I like the feel of the tyre on the road, I'll stick with it.

In my case, I'm coming from touring tyres that allow a little play on public roads (so sports touring then).

I ran on stock rubber, because it was fitted. I then changed to Z6's & found the difference immense. It was a huge improvement. Buckets of feedback.

However, with the Z6's, they go off very very quickly. I could set off to work one day on legal (barely) tread, and by the end of the day I'd be showing carcass (~150 mile round trip)!!

I heard about PR2s (pilot road, not race) & figured I'd give them a try. At the stock pressures for the SV, they were shockingly bad. So bad I considered scrapping them straight away. But I played with pressures instead.

Once the pressure has been sorted out, the PR2s give more feedback, and are much more predictable than the Z6's. Granted they take a little longer to warm up, and as such can lead to the rear spinning up slightly on agressive throttle, but you're only talking the first 10mins of riding tops.

So, since Michelins are supposedly crap, I suppose that Z6's are even worse eh? Note that I'm talking about on the road use, not track.
I don't need a perfect tyre, I ride on any old rubbish ... can't remember the last time I bought a NEW road tyre ... so I am happy to run second hand tyres, I run remoulds (yep, 2nd hand remoulds at that!), I run over sized tyres ... I don't care ... all I care about is that they are predictable, even if it is predictably rubbish. Just as long as I know the limits of the tyre I'll ride accordingly ... its these 'changing' limits that are the horror that are Michelin.

Oh and I have almost certainly ridden more road miles on Michelin than I ever have track miles!! My hatred stemmed from the track, but its a property I have discovered in every one of their road tyres (I have tried) too ...

Last set of Bridgestones I used was ~10yrs ago and they were 010s ... at the time I loved them!! Not tried anything more modern Bridgestone wise since .. I'd have no qualms at trying one out though ...

All the recent Michelins I have had have all been free (came with bike/wheel) ... sure I have used them, but I'd never pay money for a Michelin ...

May/june I spent 10 days riding thru France and Spain, including Pyrennes an Pico in torrential rain. My PR2's never once let me down. Everybody I know who has them fitted has no bad words about them. I've done 10000 so far on a front and two rears. The front looks new and the latest rear still look good.

Ive never ran Michelin's, they seem a lil dear for my liking. Im able to get Diablo corsa's fairly cheap and they are the biz...........................

With the way the Japanese are developing tyres (not too long ago they were **** in MotoGp) Im sure at some point their road tyres will outperform Michelin's in every way.

I was advised to drop the pressures by 3 to 4psi on the PR2s for the road, it worked on my Daytona. The reason is the sidewalls on all Michelins are traditionally quite stiff and you have to engineer in some flex by playing with pressures.
