I was concerned that his chains were going to scratch the paintwork, so calmly walked over and said "I don't mind people sitting on my bike if they ask first, but as you're already there can you please mind your chains don't scratch my paintwork". He couldn't have been more apologetic, he'd thought my bike was part of the static display of bikes we'd borrowed from local dealers for people to sit on and try out. His mates were ribbing him for being put in his place by the skinny little white guy too.
Full credit to you for approaching him, and politely too.

I was extremely polite, but not patronising in my manner. They were all in a good mood, with plenty of laughing and joking, so I thought it safe to go and have a quiet word. They were full of 'rapper' style banter until I had spoken to the guy on the bike, and then they turned to broad Bedford accents when the p1ss-taking started. He was obviously a biker by the way he double checked the stand was all the way forward as he got off, and then pulled the bike back when he was stood next to it - nice bloke as it happened
