Thats a fairly grim trade in that like. If the trade in cleared the tick i'd probably be quite happy though. Then i'd sell the shiny bits and use it as a deposit.

Well I went to the shop as i was passing. Looks like i'll get 2800 - 3000 against an FZ1 but I like the feel of the Fz6 more!!!
Does that make me wierd and would the upgrade be much or is it a side step? |

If you go for an FZ6 you will be quite dissapointed as they are not a whole lot faster than the SV......when I was looking for my first bike it was between the SV650 and the under seat exhaust FZ6, the sv won because it felt quicker and more fun to ride. Let it be noted the Z4M is not a slow car it will pull nearlly as hard as most non ss1000 upto 140mph and most non ss1000's wont realistically do much more than 140mph they are normally naked like the FZ1 and arnt even comfortable at that speed, where as the Z4m wont be battering en eyelid all the way upto the 155 restrictor. A Z4M with an ok driver would out handle alot of riders in the corners as well. Have fun though, dont forget to post the photos of the hole in the hedge you make when trying to keep up.

There's a huge difference between the FZ-6 and the FZ-1 (I have ridden them both). The suspension is much better on the FZ-1 and the engine is far more useable at slower speeds. I'm not taking anything away from the FZ-6 mind, let it rev and it's a real hoot and light too plus the insurance and tax will be cheaper however you really do need to change gear a lot more to keep making progress. The FZ-1, well just turn the throttle. OK it's more money but it's a lot mode bike IMHO. Test ride them both and see how you get on. Both are good.

The shop i've been to doesn't offer test rides unfortunately. My main concern about getting a new bike setting the suspenion up again as i had to fit emulators, srpings and a new shock to fix the SV's crap standard set up. I'd probably need to do that with a fazer too.
