KTM never really tried to compete head on with the Japanese if I'm not mistaken. They've taken the Triumph route and made their own classes of bikes which is a wise move. That way magazines can't do direct comparisons. If the RC4 delivers quality fun, real bikers would buy them.

142mph, 78bhp, 132kg. The definition of fun?

KTM is definitely a very interesting company. It seems they'll go in their own direction no matter what anybody thinks.. obviously if nobody buys the bikes that won't work, you know what I mean.. The looks of the RC8 and 4 can't be confused with a jap SS600. It'll be great to see what they come up with over the next few years.

This is a bike that you can ride hard on the road (I don't believe it'll hit 145 like I think was said), and that'll handle well. It'd be mad fun for a good rider, while not being too much for the road.

I can't wait for this to be released, it's a bike I can see myself owning

you just hit the nail on the head for me there sean (subject to test ride)

It is to me. On really twisty roads even 100mph is fast enough provided the bike is light so that it brakes as quick as it launches and changes direction with less effort. Maybe you like riding the motorways?

It'd be like Yam's mt-03, only far better executed

And who knows, if they built it and it sells, maybe Aprilia will finally make that RS450 or 550 that everyone wants them to make (instead of butt-ugly 750cc twins)

It's the definition for me It'd be a cracking bike. More power than an SV, without a good chunk of the weight. A slightly saner, more comfortable, lower but focused supermoto? Bring it on.

if you follow that line of thought to the extreme you end up with a 560SMR
