I'd go for the Trumpet for a weekend fun bike and cafe-hopping. The bikini fairing on the Trumpet does more than it looks like it would for aerodynamics/reducing buffeting, but it'd still be negligible for weather protection. I'd go for the KTM for touring/commuting (which appears to be more what you want).
