They're an advanced battery charger which you leave attatched to the bike, keeps the battery in good health when not in use.

surely for the price of that, aswell as electricity usage it would be cheaper to run the risk of the old battery and replacing if it dies?

I've found that riding them through the winter, even if only occassionally is better than putting one into hibernation.

fair point about going through batteries every year!! typical me not looking outside the box...... well seeing as i only just got my bike i wont be putting it to any form of sleep!! atleast aiming to ride once a week for a good 20 miles if anything just to get some experience in the wet as i feel its the best thing for you!
