I got fedup with those digital guages, I went to halfrauds and bought and old style traditional pen guage, its much easier to use and its easier to get onto the valves as well.
I've got a footpump saves treking down to the garage forecourt every time I need to put air in the tyres.

Don't buy a digital gauge, there are far more inaccurate digital gauges than good ones, get a pen type gauge, (PCL is a good name), and check it against a known accurate gauge - when you buy a tyre for instance. There are some good digital gauges - I have a Michelin digital gauge which is excellent, but this is an exception and it's not cheap.

I have a good quality dial gauge and a foot pump. I check the tyre pressures before setting off every time. True I don't commute on my bike, so I rarely have to just jump on and go.

I have a old pen gauge, my digital one went odd telling my that my tyres had 96psi in them... I keep forgetting to put it my tank bag.

I`ve always had to pay for air at petrol stations........ has been 20p for as long as I can remember! I assumed it was the same country wide?
