I thought it was brilliant, one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I dont know if I would be up for 1000+ miles on a vespa though, no matter how amazing the scenery.

+1, my mrs had suggested adding it to the shortlist of this years holiday destinations a while ago, but all i thought of was war....after watching that it looks amazing.

Brilliant episode, as usual slightly obviously scripted but still laughed through out. That vespa was worth £2-£3k! ****ed myself at clarkson thrashing it up the coastline road

Shame they all called it a Vespa , I`m pretty sure it was a Piaggio from the Logo on it .

Never saw the program. Vespas do have the Piaggio badge on them nowadays. No doubt a buy out at some point or other. But I guess most of us know Vespa as a classic. No idea how long Piaggio have been around. Does it matter really?

If it was piaggio then it's probably worth more. The vietnamise vespa 'supers' are the shoddiest deathtraps on the road. People buy them for a grand with 2 grand postage then get them and they don't work. Take them apart and instead of spending £10 on a new part they've used a weeks labour grinding and machining the parts. Most of the engines are made from tin cans.
The origianl vespas were sold to piaggio I believe which made piaggio vespas from around the 80's then piaggio let an indian company (LML) make all the parts for them in the late 90s until production stopped around 2000 and LML have now started making 'Stars' which are the exact same bike with diffo badges.
