I only eat the Chicken Shish that my local Kebab place do. They are a proper Turkish Kebab place with the most amazing Turkish Flat Bread. You ask for what you want and they Barbeque it on front of you. It takes a wee while longer but my Jolly Jesus they are gooooooooood.

Kebabs are a wonderous celebration of life, food and sharing. If like me you do (or in my case, used to, before I moved) frquent Wilmslow Road, Manchester on a very frequent basis with different groups of friends and have a chicken tikka kebab you will obviously agree with me.

Also, what's all this nonsence about kebabs being unhealthy.. pshhhh I say. Go for a chillo kebab, nice slips of lamb on a bed of rice a good solid meal if you ask me....

HOWEVER if you are talking about that nasty carp served in a pitta bread that falls apart at the very mention of sauce then BAN THE LOT and bring real kebabs down to Bristol because I miss em...

Yes, in the past couple of years I've eaten more sober than drunk. That said, I live in a predominantly Muslim area where the kebabs are more of a 'normal' food and of a higher quality than your typical post-binge miscellaneous meat pile.

EDIT: When a visiting American friend was first over, we took him to a kebab place after a few jars. He nearly fell over saying "WTF is that?!" when we pointed the 'food' out to him. Oddly, when we explained to him it was a grilled elephant's leg, he believed us and happily ate it.

As theres a kebab thread i'll av a bit of a moan, when i was in ipswich there was a coupla luvly kebab shops and i often treated myself to a 'grease-pop' after a night on the town

however where i am now in the southwest there aint a local kebab shop (a disgrace) an travelling is needed to get one!

c'mon now after a few beers im hardly likely to jump in the car/on the bike an get meslf a grease-pop am i? avta make do wiv chips after a beer or 5, aint the same dammit, theres no excuse considering the amount of blurry sheep down ere!

How can you not find a kebab shop, when I can go over to a very small town called St Jean D'Angeley in Mid france and theres one there!

couldn't believe it when we found it, its not as if you'd expect it if you saw the town itself. It doesn't fit in at all!
