They've told everyone in the office to leave by 3pm before the heavy snowfall resumes. Looking out the window from my sofa it seems to have started two hours early.

Attempted it, kinda wished I hadn't. I've got four short back roads before getting to dual carraige way, I made two of the back roads, the third one got me, down on the left side, saw the obvious damage, snapped the end off clutch lever, bent bar end few sratches in the fairing, no indy. Picked the bike up, jumped back on, one more road and should be on a nicely gritted A road. Got to the slip road, yeah definately clearer, upped my speed, went to change up to second (ah nuts) no gear lever! Rode in 1st til I could get off the dual carraige way, a few miles, got off. Walked home (about 3 miles) in a blizzard, took roughly two hours, all this at 6:00 this morning.

Cursed most of the walk home, in between laughing at the fact that if I hadn't of stacked it earlier on I would have made it.

And to clarify I walked home cause there was no way I was riding back down that dual carraige way in 1st, I'm still amazed at surviving the first run.

I hate to be beaten, but this morning I was, just

So I'm now on the hunt for brake lever, clutch lever, bar end. I've been searching ebay but you're talking about 30 quid for gear lever.

Anyone know of anywhere decent for parts without getting mugged off?

I rode my brother's bike yesterday. I usually walk to work (faster than getting the bike out and getting changed into/out of kit), but must confess, I would of wussed out and taken the cage today, had I been going further afield. That said, it was 3" of snow and proper ice where cars were crashing on my road today, so I don't think anyone short of an ice racer would have been able to ride down the road without an off.

Not surprised, is that the one coming off the hogs back?? People take it so fast and its a fair sized hill, in the snow it wouldn't surprise me if there was a nasty accident.

I tried to get to work by car this morning, but conditions were so bad that I turned around and came back home again. There's no buses and major problems on the tube so I stayed at home.
