1. try and pick a gear that lets you hold between 4000 - 5000rpm its a good spot to be in, you can roll the throttle off and have a decent amount of engine braking, also you can throttle on from there and the SV will pull nicely out of a corner

2. Look through the corner at the exit point you want. On a roundabout this may mean actually looking over the grassy lump in the middle of the roundabout, if you look where you want the bike to go it'll naturally follow you. Your head weighs alot, if you turn your head and look, it'll move your shoulders and bodyweight as well which will help you turn the bike.

Pick a bit of road you know well and ride it a few times and practice those techniques. I found it really helped me with my riding when I was just starting out.
Thank you ever so much for that! Excellent advice.

Looking where you want to be is key here. I'm in the process of gettin my confidence back after an off (doing quite well IMO thanks to some great forum members), every time I come back from a ride out my chicken strips have thinned a little. There's been a few times (for example on a round about) where I've been leant over and it feels as far as I can go but I know I want to go further and I've got my self literally analysing myself right there and it usually goes 'line; yeah okay, positioning; not too bad lower shoulder and knee a bit, countersteering; as much as I dare not really relevant, pressure on footpegs; ....always forget this one to be honest, looking where I want to be; I am, well not quite what if I look over there....woah "

Even though you think you're looking where you want to be (well me anyway) you can look further and it really helps. Just try not to tilt your hear, your chin wants to be in line with your shoulder and your eyelevel horizonal with the road.
