Wash your eye out with warm/lukewarm water, as in really wash it-using a syringe would be the ideal, lifting up the upper eyelid and seeing if anything is stuck there. When I had something in my eye they used 3 bags of sterile water to wash it, time and time again. Even standing under a lukewarm shower with your eyes open if you can manage it!
That'll so the same as the optrex-or use an egg cup and wash wash and wash again. If it's still sore tomorrow, get to a&e. |

Hope so hon-it's awful sore. I got nitromors paintstripper in my eye last year, not pleasant.
Let us know how you get on tomorrow, fingers crossed you can brave the shower-do it for twice as long as you think it needs. |

I had something irritating in my left eye a few weeks ago. Initially it looked like an eyelash, but after pulling over 4 inches of the thing out of my eye it turns out it was a hair! I could feel it behind my eyeball when i pulled it out, was actually quite a nice feeling

I get stuff in my eye a lot. Occupational hazard.
Ironically the worse one happened because I was wearing goggles. Cutting heavy steel mesh in a trench with a grinder. Once finished I took off the goggles and a lump of still hot metal fell on the front of my eyeball and stuck there ![]() That night I'd promised to go with the wife to a concert and spent the whole time gritting my teeth. Two days of being hard (soft in the head more like) and i went to a&e. A nice lady sat me down with a numbed eyeball and scraped the bloody thing off with a blade thing which I had to watch coming as it was stuck right over the hole in my eyeball. A week after and I still had pain. Off to proper eye hospital where another nice lady ( tiny asian lady) used a huge magnifying glass and tiny tweezers to get rid of all the rust particles that the previous nice lady hadnt spotted. Dont muck about. Go to hospital ![]() |

Having had two painful experiences with my right eye I can sympathise with how you're feeling!
One was a five a side football, which bloomin well hurt, I screamed like a girl when it hit me, but only because it reminded me about the time when I nearly lost my sight when I got hit in the eye with a squash ball. My GP said that a squash ball is the perfect size to fit in your eye socket. Never played squash since. But take everyones advice and go and see a Doctor. A mate of mine had a grass seed embeded in his eye, similar symptoms to yours. Stop faffing about
