Insurance for on the road maybe, but insurance for the type of riding I do would be pointless...I've lost count the amount of times I've fallen off going down a piece of single track too fast!

Wouldn't really be a fan of the insurance thing though as that would mean I'm traceable! Too many cagers have no respect for cyclists yet cyclists have as much right to be on the roads as anyone else...(don't start the road tax argument)! Many a times have I seen wingmirrors kicked/punched off by friends of mine when idiot women in their "tanks" get too close!

If you start down the line of insuring cyclists, then what about pedestrians....where I live quite a few roads have no paths for pedestrians so they usually walk in the road...typically wearing black clothing and not facing the traffic of course! Should these be insured as well? Just as much of a hazzard in my eyes.

The Police shoudl be out there hitting these tw*ts who dont follow the road laws where it hurts, either confiscate their bikes or fine the feck out of them.

Where i am in Cambridge they have been handing out fixed penalties to those without lights.

But with the penalty notice they have been giving then a nice new set of lights.

To right, but its no surprise people have no respect for ordinary law abiding cyclists when you have d*ckeads like the one that rode into the original poster.

Well, when mine is up I walk in the post office and say I'm here to buy road tax and they seem to know what I mean!

go and de-rail your own thread YC!

And mighty boosh, welcome to the forums good to see so many new users popping up all the time. I think southerners have a different perception of violence to northerners think that guy might have taken a kicking if he'd pulled that stunt up north (especially the ***** comment). Anywho, he shouldn't have messed with me.... I know the hardest man in bradford.

My ex cycles everywhere and was army champion boxer with a very short temper. If someone stamped on his wheel he'd beat f*ck out of them. I still don't know what I ever saw in him, but......you can never judge a book by its cover!
