They put use a fantastic cream that instantly dissapates the pain and its antiseptic, they then put a antiseptic wrapping on it for you.

That would be inconvenient... Edit: @ baphs nasty pic...

A+E will have some proper plastic backed breathable dressing things. Don't stick (and hurt like f##k!) but still absorb the liquid.

Dunno how deep this burn of yours is, but I have done similar myself and just ignored it. I'm not dead so it must be perfectly safe.

YC... his burn is weeping ie; liquid getting out of burn means infection is able to get in, and he has no way of dressing it at home.

But a normal blister will do that when burst and have only a small risk of CERTAIN DEATH... anyway, the 3rd part of my previous post was not meant to be taken seriously...

Wrap some selotape around it backwards so the sticky bit is facing out?

No, it needs to breathe a little bit I think. Just go to A+E or is there a 24hr chemist around to get some proper dressings?

Lol and then some more sellotape on top sticky side in to stop the stickiness sticking to things Note: don't actually do this, there's bodging and then there's just borderline silliness

Darren, please, stop being a stubborn r'hole!

Cover it as best you can & get your bum to A&E. If nothing else, they'll stop you thinking of 'ingenious' ways to cover it.

EDIT: MYC, that pic is nothing more than an infected burn wound.

I know I asked for your advice and I don't want it to seem like I'm throwing it back in your face but I really don't think A&E is necessary

No worries about throwing opinions back, I'm getting used to it.

In summary, it was a dry burn (done with the hot element of a soldering iron), it's been rinsed under running water, and had cold compress (rice) put on it.

You said the skin has fallen off where it had previously blistered.

Having seen the picture, I'm unsure what size the burn is (another picture with an object for comparison?). I can see 2, possibly 3 blisters, and a larger red area under the blisters.

You've said it's weeping, and you have no dressing to put on it.

Assuming that's correct, because it's weeping, as Anna said, you really need to cover it up because weeping fluid means that it's easier to get infected. Please don't use selotape, and I'd only advise cling film (which you've said you have non of) as a last resort.

Is the wound painful (without touching it) still? Does it feel warm still on the inside (again, without touching)? If yes, I really think a professional opinion should be sought, which means A&E at this time of night.

If it's not causing pain, you really do need to dress it with something that won't stick, yet will absorb the fluid weeping out. That probably means a trip to Tesco (or any other 24 hour shop). Read the packets, they'll say if it's suitable for burns.

EDIT: If in doubt, 0845 46 47 is the NHS direct number.
