Some people are short.

I am short, albeit not short enough for raising the tank to be an issue for me..but even those who are tall should have enough common sense to work out how raising the tank will affect its position.

yer i can but you dont hold on to the tank do you, you hold on to the bars so i dont see how moving it a little bit will affect you .... unless you are short and the tank makes you sit back more because it sort of pushes you back is that what you mean ?

As I explained two posts ago:

Quote:
It tips the top rear edge of the tank into a more vertical position. If you're already on the limit of being able to comfortably reach the bars, it could quite easily be enough to cause you discomfort. Fairly obvious to me.
If the top of the tank is forced more vertical, it inherently makes a shorter rider either sit up more straight, therefore increasing the distance between shoulders and bars, or makes them site further back, again increasing the distance.
