However I would strongly advise against doing this... If you don't have a restricted license then rip the little barstewards out ![]() If your 2000's only got 13k on the clock then it needs to be ridden more! ![]() ![]() People with K7s have done more miles, not that it matters lol |

Yeah that's about normal. Average mileage for bikes is really low because very few actually get ridden anywhere.

any idea why my bike will only do 100mph if its not restricted then, do you think it just needs servicing etc. think its had carb balanced at around 16500 a couple of years ago. its now on 22000.

Carb balance doesn't really affect top speed.
It'd have to be something pretty knackered to make so much difference, 100mph takes about 30bhp, 130 takes 70bhp. Ish. Is there something physically stopping the throttle cables from moving all the way or something like that?

dont think so, in six gear the bike will only rev to around 7000rpm so not sure if that is standard or restricted but after checking yesterday the bike doesnt look like it has the A I international restricters fitted it states on the cert.

Does it rev clean all the way through in a lower gear?

yea it seems too rev and pull well in all gears and 0 to 60 is good but once in 5th and 6th there aint a lot there to be honest. not to bothered cos the power up to 70mph is good but after that seems a bit disapointing really, especially when a lot of my riding is motorway miles

Have you compared your throttle with a bike you know is not restricted, in terms of how far you can pull it back?

have only ridden a few bikes as just passed test a couple of months ago. only bikes i have ridden are usual 500cc learner bikes so cant compare with other sv650's but think the bike aint restricted with the throttle due to i can rev it to the red line almost in nuetral if that makes any difference and can red line it in lower gears, but obviously on very view occassions just to test. Get the feeling the bike just pos needs a good service etc.
