Can't really explain it then, given YC's experience - maybe just a crap example of the engine?

Dyno won't show you tickover mixtures. For that you just need vacuum gauges and a leafblower. And asbestos fingers because they're a c#nt to get to!

At light throttle settings like at slow cruise then engine isn't up on the needles it's all from pilot screws/jets.

If you really like it Id make an offer, say £1400, and see what gives.Bikes are hard to seell in the current climate, and that goes for old curvys too.
Lots of nice asking prices but who is really paying top money? Not many I guess.

It's not what they're designed for quite simply.

HUGE carbs, short stroke, hot cams, big valves. None of this is aimed for low rpm tractability!

What is the big hump on the pillion seat for ? I would imagine SV much better for commuting - easier to get spares better at low revs etc

The hump is an aerodynamic thing, apparently they were really good when they first come out, as it was really hard to slipstream them. CBR of same time is really easy to get into slipstream of
