I'm sure Andy does know the difference between shooting some one and speeding its a no brainer. I think the underlining aspect of his statement holds true, much the same as breadmans comment about hands in fires. You could actually argue with all the "speed kills" slogans etc that rinding fast for no good reason is just as life endangering as playing with wepons. IE the people who are in control of high speed vechiles are trained to do it, much the same as those who carry wepons.
Its when members of the public (ie the untrained) are allowed these tools of devistation that bad things happen.
So correct me if Im wrong andy but what you were getting at is that the reason we cant speed (or carry wepons) is because we dont wear a uniform which is a clear visable indication that we have undergone the training to ride faster/carry a wepon.

ps I do like the analagy of a vehicle been seen as a deadly wepon, if more people were aware of that fact then maybe many more lives would be saved each year.

Yes, the police shouldn't be speeding, you can report them for this and have them arrested and jailed, see numerous stories in the papers, notably the trained police officer taking out a traffic car and driving at 120+.
No, it isn't, not for you, me or them (but you have to admit, it's pretty good fun sometimes ).

on my bikesafe training day, the police officer said to us

"observe the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. NSL's...go as fast as the road conditions and your comfort level allows"

or at least, words to that effect

Yeah, I understand that Police can do more and they're better trained then me in bike riding.....and this is HELL true, because I've bikes for 2 yrs....

But, the subject is why police speeding? and maybe fact that they have to chase crim is good explanation...but I tried to stay behind them from about "Pilning" all a way across the bridge, to "Newport" and then they've gone....
So, I don't think they're in rush heheh

I have to say that I AM Myself against speeding, but "crazy speeding" it's not the same as speeding on clear motorway, for instance.

I wrote this thread to share with all of You, what I've seen...
and I wondered what do You think about it, THANKS!!

And officers Ive seen ystarday were similar like "Timwilky" said....
They wave to me and overtook me to rode away, so I couldn't see them when we reached Newport...heheh
What a bikes they had Lovelly !!
