You think good things happen to bad people but they will have done something good in the recent past regardless of their effect on you.

Regardless of whether you believe in it or not it's a strong principle to live your life by. If everyone ran by this principle the world would be a far better place.

the philosophy behind karma (imho) is flawed because you expect to recieve what you dish out....if you think about it thats quite a selfish attitude.

if on the other hand you do a deed just for the sake of it, without even a thought about the returning consequence then surely that is at a higher level of spiritual awareness.

maybe im wrong but fundamentaly my day to day routine revolves around not upsetting anyone or anything around me.
It helps me relax knowing that my vibes are peaceful and without conflict.

Interesting point- I believe that in the Buddhist belief this is very important- ultimately, giving to receive as you say is a selfish act and therefore not worthy of increasing your karma in the long run.

Giving just for giving is ultimately selfless and far more virtuous and beneficial.

I never believed in karma before, I have seen some pretty horrendous things in my life and the way people treat each other and animals.

However people always used to say the 'goes around comes around thing' and I never believed it, but I do believe that in time if you are a good person that you will be happy in your life, if you are cruel and nasty and spiteful, you will attract others with similar attitudes and your life will be miserable.

I always try to do good by people, I have a happy life and good friends and I hope that its because I have been kind, loyal and caring rather than a doormat.

That makes a whole lot of sense to me. Random Acts of Kindness are the way forward. Sod what you get back for it.

But then, it depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm bored, I'll either do some RAoK, or wind someone up. So I suppose it sort of balances itself at some point.
