Anyway, so the title of the thread is that I got KO'd! Not sure how exactly that's something to brag about seeing as getting KO'd is a bit of a flop!

Then I start my post with 'not the best of saturdays'. I then go on to explain the situation with my mate and paint the picture that he's downed being kicked in by 6 guys.

Saying 'we went in hard throwing some blows" was not supposed to be bragging. It's what happened, so I said it as it is. Breaking something up implies there is something to break up. Someone getting kicked whilst on the floor is not something you can break up because you know what these people are willing to do, so that's why me and my mate went in 'hard'! Sorry if that sounds like bragging, but its not supposed to.

Perhaps you should read posts a bit more carefully next time before posting yourself, instead of nit picking 1 line in my post that instantly seemed to make you think I was on here bragging about a fight!..

Geez whooda thought a post like this can be turned into a quit bragging about your fight type thread!

Yeeh i told a little fib to spare her the hurt of knowing her son got into a fight...why put that on her without any need to do so!

6 against 2 yes..Survived yes...things could have been worse, but getting knocked out isn't exactly something to brag about!

Sorry, but your post read "my mate started a fight, I joined in, then I lied to my mum about it," bolstered by a comment about 'going in hard'. Hardly the most mature sentiment, hence my comment about your suitability for HE. And I certainly wasn't the first to comment on the perceived behaviour (funny how I got picked on...)

Anyway, what was it you felt the need to open a post about? Weren't you expecting people to have opinions or comment?

I wasnt nit picking your thread, I was merely trying to explain to other members and yourself why it came across to me in this way.

There are always ways to explain what happened in an event.

I showed two ways in my previous post that explains how the same incident could have been written, and the two ways that they might have have different impacts on the reader.

I have already apologised if this my interpretation is inaccurate.

Hmmm, I read the thread earlier but didn't post. I certainly didn't mis-interprete it.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but can you imagine the whoooollllleee world of trouble you guy would ALL have been in had the cops turned up? Or if one of those guys had a knife or a bottle or something?

Hell, you don't even need weapons to really hurt someone! I have seen guys with fractured skulls after one punch!!

But like I said, all hindsight. TBH, I would imagine most people would do the same in your situation.

Urrm well my friend may have squared up like an idiot to a loada lads who may have said something to him, but I said the first thing we saw was my mate on the ground being kicked. So you're assuming my mate started the contact aspect of it.

If your mates being kicked in by 6 guys and you help him out, it aint the same as "our mate started a fight and we joined in"! Its a case of 'Oh, wtf, why's he down on the ground being kicked in, lets do something' - quite a difference!

So it wasn't mature helping my mate out? What you're saying is soo ridiculous I don't even know what to say to it.

Btw, u didn't answer my earlier question. Should I be chucked out of uni cos I helped a downed mate (bearing in mind that at that time we didn't know what had happened..all we saw was him getting kicked in)!...
I supposed I could've walked away and left him there...i mean i am in higher education after all right?!

hehe, i learnt a long time ago to keep details of fights i may have gotten into off these here forums as non one really understands ... except for you, the people hitting you and the people you hit.

And anyway i know fighting is not big and not clever (but thank christ i know how to look after myself when the chips are down and there is nothing left and no where to run)
