have a look here

http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/

Difference IMHO isnt enough to warrant the extra cost. If you get the latest firmware for the 3G it does almost bring it into line with the 3GS IIRC

I'd rather have the extra talk time and texts. I get 150 mins and 250 texts with Orange. With O2 on the same price tariff, I'd only get 75mins and 125 texts.

Edit: I've just checked my iPhone data usage. In the month that I've had it, I've used about 10MB of mobile data, out of the 750MB limit. So my actual usage is only 1/75th of the limit.

Orange say:
“750MB is actually quite a lot of Mobile Data too - it's about 5 hours of video downloaded from YouTube, 75,000 mobile web pages or...”, going on to say in his next tweet “...30,000 normal web pages....it's 250 full music tracks (if an average a track is about 3mb) or 1500 mobile games...”

Thanks for the advice folks. Looks like there's no easy / cheaper way and I'll be trying to convince him (probably in vain) to hold tight with his current phone.

Cheers Keith

if you, like me, have 3 email accounts that you want to use plus internet for business reasons 750MB is not enough. Last months spend was about 700MB for me.

just an FYI - T-mobile are now offering the iPhone too.

The contracts are similar in cost because Apple dictates the selling price, and apparently discounts are not allowed*

*info source: high street phone shop, therefore may be sales bull.
