[QUOTE=hindle8907;2128468]Sorry to here this dude its not nice i have been watching my mum and dad go though the same as my dad was made redundant 9 months ago now.
My dads a Skilled Frabicator but can find a work anywhere so hes just landed him self a part time job in asda pulling the trollies around .. i fee sorry for him but atleast its something,
good luck dude i hope you get somthing sorted out, am sure you will something allways comes along,[/QUOTE

but it shows your dad has the right attitude though - I'm a legal secretary but when I couldnt find work (it was right after 9/11 and no one was hiring temps) I applied for work at McD's, anywhere I could think of. Low wages is better than none and staying "in work" I think keeps you ready for opportunities

This is so true, I left a well paid school job under duress and ended up in Halfords selling bikes and earning minimum wage. However, it got me out of the house and back onto my feet so I could feel independent again. As it is, I have been promoted and want to go for more promotions when the opportunity presents itself.

Good luck both of you and stay positive. Things are tough at the mo, but there is always hope and kitties!

Dave, very sorry to hear this news mate.

As Saeed says, take some time to relax over Crimble and New Year, perfect your CV and predict the interview questions.

I honestly think things are going to pick up in the New Year, certainly by February-March. Particularly in IT, so much has been put off for a year or more now, and businesses are getting desperate to progress.

Quick update on this, 2 months on...

Well 16th Dec was my last days work, although with notice periods etc I have technically only been out of work for 2 and a half weeks.

So,given that my new job starts on Monday, I dont think that 3 weeks unemloyment in this economic climate is that bad really...

Yep, I got me a new job, in Haselmere (which I actually was interviewed for a month ago and didnt get it - looks like the guy that did wasnt that good)

So I now have a 45 mile each way commute ahead of me, so I think I may get the SV out of retirement and put the miles on that instead of the Zed.

So Soulkiss is hereby uncrunched
