We have a great national anthem

go to an american baseball game the locals i was with told me to stand up for the national anthem or be ready for a beating, so i was quick to stand up with everyone, the one guy in our group didnt and was ripped out of seat by some yankee behind him. I was going to stand anyway but its good to be warned that the yank's dont like people disrespecting there anthem.

And as far as standing for the national anthem when getting citizenship i think its a must, the song is boring and i only know the first verse which is more than most people here.

A friend of mine is a doctor and someone tried to pay her off to get a false disability claim so she didnt have to work, and they was of ethnic minority. If i remember correctly a couple of years ago a paper showed one family with 9 children was living in a big mansion, both adults claiming for everything off the government and was given the house by the government because a council house wasnt big enough, and what made it better was illegals, who after got citizenship because it was against there human rights to deport them! so who ever said immigrates work harder it isnt always true.

Immigration cant be control by our government its now controlled by the eu, and theres still more immigrates coming in during our recession, bring on the depression thats going to follow it if we continue doing about it. And because of the stereotypical view that 16-24 year olds dont want to work, poeple in that age group that want to work get overlooked because of the narrow minded views. so mix that with uncontrollable immigration and you get the image of under 24's not working and lower standard trained foreign work force doing a job badly not willing to speak the local language because they dont want to mix with the locals. sounds like Wolverhampton quite well to me.

Just to clarify here...a nation that is proud of its "freedom" and wants to bomb the rest of the world into being "free" like they are is also so small minded that they would turn to violence against strangers for refusing to stand up for a song before a game is played?

Are you suggesting this is a good thing? That their "its great to be american...you're either with us or against us" attitude is something to admire? I do hope i read that wrong.

Now lets get this right cos you're mixing a few issues here.

If you come to this country seeking refuge you are a refugee. Did you know as a refugee you are NOT allowed to work for the 1st 6 months you are here?
A lot of refugees are called "illegals" by people who dont really know their situation.

Also the Eu has allowed economic migrants to come to this country and work, in the same way as you and i have the right to go live in their countries and work. If this is something you dont like, as many people dont, then you need to vote for parties that would have not stood for this.

Currently your choice is BNP or....errr..... or..... Hmm. Seems like all your options will continue to allow this type of migration but the country doesnt wanna hear that and would rather just listen to the hype and spin the 2 main parties put out about each other to distract you from the issues that really matter to you. Those issues dont even get aired for the most part.

But you know what...to keep a pop song out of the charts, well lets set up facebook pages and all text each other and get really into it...cos that matters. Yeh thats front page news as is what Cheryl and Simon wore and how she cried about something.

All thats news but the fact that you got 2 basic choices for Govt (dotn"waste" a vote on the lib dems will ya, you gotta make your vote count so vote tactically and vote for those win th best chance of beating the ones you want out...dont vote for who you actually want in.) and instead of everyone saying "lets give the lib dems* a chance, come on everyone lets not let tory or labour in this time, lets all set up facebook pages about stuff that matters" all they do is moan that "its cos of the immigrants and the illegals"

No its cos of your govt and the fact you let them shower of sh!t decide things for you.

Want a real change, go for a party that isnt owned by big business. If you can find one of course.

Yeah I see your point,and I would have no issue with being basically polite when in another country,but I do think we put too much store on token issues.These people are just being rude really,but I wonder what checks are really made to ascertain if they deserve citizenship or not.I find these little ceremonies very trite,a bit like school prizegiving or employee of the month nonsense.
